WHAT IS A NON DOMESTIC EPC ?
A non‑domestic EPC is a legally required Energy Performance Certificate for commercial buildings in the UK, rating energy efficiency from A–G and valid for 10 years. It is mandatory when selling, renting, or constructing commercial premises, and must be produced by an accredited Level 3 or 4 assessor.
An Energy Performance Certificate for any non‑residential building (offices, shops, warehouses, schools, hospitals, etc.)
Provides:
-
EPC rating (A = most efficient, G = least)
-
Estimated energy use and costs
-
Recommendations for improving efficiency
Uses SBEM or DSM methodology rather than domestic SAP/RdSAP.
